Electrical Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the study and application of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and consumption of electrical energy for the benefit of mankind. Electricity has become the basic need for survival of human beings globally. From household to industrial plants, communication and satellite navigation system, electronic equipment, computers etc., all require electricity. Electrical engineering is one of the core fields of engineering, most of the times evergreen in terms of scope and job prospects. It is the heart of whole engineering discipline.
The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 2013 with intakes of 30 students in each. The faculty members believe in high quality teaching and are very active in projects, conferences and research publications, workshops, short term training programmes, faculty development programmes, co-curricular activities such as value addition programmes, expert lectures etc.
We have a nice blend of faculty members belonging to different age groups and areas of expertise, having good academic qualifications and track records, teaching and professional experience. We are also associated with and taking benefit of capabilities of eminent people - proven experts - in their own areas of interest.
Electrical Engineers are needed in all manufacturing units. All major companies of public and private sector, such as Electricity Boards, Large Scale Industries, Manufacturing Plants, Power Corporations, Hydro-Electricity sector are continuously in need of Electrical Engineers for their projects. Electrical Engineers also find job prospects in Design Industries, Production plants, Natural gas plants, Petroleum as well as in steel and chemical plants. Many premier Educational and Research Institutions regularly recruit electrical engineers as graduate Engineer trainees and Management Trainees to work on research projects. Electrical Engineers can also get a job in Major players in Public Sector such as Indian Railways, Armed forces (Technical Branch) and also in Thermal and Nuclear power Corporation Limited.
